Protein powders come in different forms. Three of the most common forms are whey, soy, and casein protein. Protein powders come at various prices. Here are some of the best types of protein powder that you should check out.

Whey protein

This comes from milk. This is often produced during the cheesemaking process. It is the liquid that separates from the curds. It is high in protein but also contains lactose. It is a milk sugar most people are unable to digest. There is an isolate version that contains very little lactose. It gets lost during processing. Whey digests quick. It is also rich in amino acids that help in muscle growth. It also aids recovery after resistance and endurance training. Your bloodstream absorbs the amino acids after digestion. Brown rice protein

These are usually considered inferior to whey protein for muscle building. It contains all the essential amino acids but lacks enough lysine. This is why it is not a complete protein. Studies show that it has beneficial effects on body composition. Brown rice protein is not a common allergen. It does not contain any protein that causes intolerances and allergies.

This comes from milk like whey. The difference is that people often digest and absorb casein slower. It slows down stomach emptying. This is because it creates a gel when it interacts with stomach acid. It also delays the absorption of amino acids by your bloodstream. The exposure of your muscles to amino acids becomes gradual and steadier. This reduces the rate of muscle protein breakdown.

Egg protein

Eggs are superb sources of high-quality protein. Eggs are one of the best foods for decreasing appetite. Egg protein powders are often produced from egg whites and not whole eggs. The removal of the high-fat yolks is the reason why you experience less fullness.  This is in comparison to eating a whole egg. Eggs are also a complete protein source. Egg proteins are often chosen by people with dairy allergies.
